Born in 1848, died on June 21, 1940. Family name, Hasegawa; given name, Tokutaro. Lived at Tenkajaya in Osaka. In May 1875, inherited the family name from his father Hasegawa Sadanobu and assumed the name Sadanobu II (namely Konobu I). Active in the Ukiyo-e worls of the Osaka area, he not only produced prints on traditional kabuki subjects but also worked on kaika-e (pictures on new civilization subjects). His landscapes showing street scenes in Osaka and Kobe are valuable sources of information about modernized Japan immediately after her opening to foreign intercourse.
