Woodblock Prints


Dorothy Daly Bartholomew, known primarily for her woodblock prints, studied at the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Barnes Foundation, Catholic University in Washingtron, D.C., and in Europe. She exhibited widely throughout the United States and Japan, receiving numerous awards. As a widower, she moved with her children to New Hampshire in 1961 and opened the first art gallery in Newport. Her work emphasized New England and religious themes and is represented in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art and Pennsylvania Academy of Art. All of the following works were obtained from the artist's estate; they are unframed unless indicated otherwise.
