Explanatory statement from Caithness Glass:

'Helen MacDonald has been doing a Biblical weight in each of the regular Modern Limited Edition collections for some years, and became interested in doing something on the great religions of the world, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, etc. In her studies, she was very much taken with the rich panoply of imagery in the Judaic faith, which resulted in a new collection of 18 paperweights. The eighteenth piece (in a Limited Edition) is a traditional dreidel, the square spinning top with its characteristic Hebrew characters on its faces.'
