Dresden reticulated plate. Hand-painted deep plate or bowl with a thin gilt edge. Three quatrafoils that are both gilded on their borders and raised along their edges lie between the reticulated portions of the rim. The plate has a blue underglazed German Dresden mark, which is sometimes referred to as a Meissen mark. This mark is now more correctly attributed to Helena Wolfsohn, a Dresden artist in the late 1880s! $120. (#G029) |

French hand-painted enamel box & 4 trays. Antique enameled (cigarette?) box and four small trays (or dishes), all colorfully decorated with a bright coat of arms with two lions. All surfaces of the box (except the bottom) are decorated and the gold metal (brass?) latch and rim around the box are finely detailed. The box is 4¼" (L), 3" (W) and 1¾" (H). Each of the trays, with their gold metal decorative rims are 4¾" (L). Note: there are four trays but only two depicted. A fine 5-piece set of hand-painted French porcelain! $195. (#KR012) |

A fine, hand painted desk set with overall flower design, including a covered inkwell with attached tray (7.5" x 5.5") and its original gilt-rimmed insert, a covered stamp box (3.25" in length), and a porcelain and wood blotter (4.5" in length). This set was made in Dresden by H.C. Hutschenreuther, circa early 20th century and is nicely marked. Condition is very good, with a few minor light marks on the tray and soiled blotter paper. $295. Between the reticulated portions of the rim are 3 quatrafoils that are gilded on their borders, raised along their edges, and contain delicate sprays of flowers. Meissen "Blue Onion" reticulated plate. Hand-painted antique Meissen plate with three quatrafoils that are raised along their edges and lie within the reticulated portions of the rim. What is not terribly apparent in the pictures is that the blue trimmed lattice work between the center well of the plate and its rim, is also raised. Mettlach cameo plaque (Woman with attendants). Large Mettlach cameo plaque depicting a classical scene of a woman and her eight attendants. This large plaque (or charger) has a blue/grey background and the scene depicted in white is done in rather high relief and with great detail. The plaque is in very good condition; there is a tiny sliver of the darker pottery missing to the left of the attendant on the far left. This is barely visible, not objectionable and mentioned only to be precise. Artist signed ("J Stahl") and numbered (#2443). Diameter: 18¼". SOLD. Mettlach stein. Old 1/4 liter Mettlach stein (#1896) with pewter lid. The front depicts a maiden and her daughter sewing, which is done in a rather high relief. On either side of this is the face of a cherub. The grape-like decoration on the pewter lid (see pictures) matches the design on the pewter portion of the handle that lifts the lid. Porcelain letter holder and covered inkwell set. Hand-painted Victorian letter holder and matching inkwell that are both dated (‘95) and have the artist's initials on their undersides. The letter holder accommodates several pens (see photos) and each of its cartouches is decorated with lovely bouquets of purple, blue and yellow flowers. Each cartouche is also gilded and matches those around the inkwell and on its unattached lid. Nicely painted and in excellent condition (including the original insert for ink). Rosenthal & Limoges Coffee set /Chocolate set. Five-piece coffee set (or possibly chocolate set), which probably is from the early to mid 20th century. All pieces are hand painted, artist signed (N.C. Kuykendall), and have high glaze interiors with more semi-gloss/matte exteriors. The paintings on the exteriors are all similar but not identical and are very well done. The designs go all around each piece. The coffee (chocolate?) pot is ~9" (H) and has a green underglaze Rosenthal mark (for Philip Rosenthal and Co.) with "Bavaria" written in red. The taller of the two pitchers (a milk pitcher?) is 4¾"(H) and has the green Rosenthal mark with "Donatello" beneath it. The covered sugar is marked in this same way and is 3½" (H). The smaller pitcher (creamer) is 2¾" (H) and has the green Rosenthal mark with "Bavaria" in red. The tray has a diameter of 13¾" and is marked: "T+V Limoges France". SOLD. (#J099) |

von Schierholz Pair of candelabra. Pair of handpainted tall (~10½") candelabra made by the von Schierholz Porcelain Manufactory in Thuringia, Germany. Each candelabra is creamy white with gilding (which is all intact) and is highly decorated with intricate flowers of vivid colors and various shapes. The floral decoration is in excellent condition, with only one small petal that is minimally broken (barely visible and very hard to find).
